✨ wine.spec_sheet

E. Guigal's white wine program is as legendary as its reds, spanning the entire length of the Rhône Valley. From the steep, terraced granite slopes of Condrieu in the north—where the Guigal family famously helped rescue the near-extinct Viognier grape in the mid-20th century—to the sun-drenched southern vineyards that produce their celebrated Côtes du Rhône Blanc, Guigal's whites are defined by aromatic intensity, rich texture, and impeccable balance. In the north, they craft opulent, barrel-aged Viognier and majestic Marsanne-Roussanne blends. In the south, they masterfully blend Viognier with Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, and Grenache Blanc to create fresh, complex, and highly accessible wines. Their white winemaking philosophy balances temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation to preserve vibrant aromatics with judicious oak aging for their top-tier crus, resulting in whites of remarkable depth and gastronomic versatility.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, Domaine E. Guigal has become one of the Rhône Valley's most illustrious and influential wine estates. Now managed by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the family is headquartered at the historic Château d'Ampuis, where they craft legendary wines that define the northern and southern Rhône. The estate is globally renowned for its iconic Côte-Rôtie single-vineyard bottlings—La Mouline, La Turque, and La Landonne—as well as the opulent Condrieu La Doriane. Their uncompromising production philosophy emphasizes extremely long barrel aging in their custom, in-house cooperage, resulting in wines of extraordinary depth, structure, and longevity.
