E. Guigal's 'Luminescence' is an extraordinary, mythical sweet white wine born only in exceptional years when nature grants the perfect conditions for over-ripening and noble rot on the steep, granite terraces of Condrieu. First produced as a 'miracle' vintage in 1999, and only replicated a handful of times since, this rare cuvée is crafted from late-harvested Viognier. The grapes undergo passerillage on the vine, concentrating the sugars, aromas, and acidity. Fermented and aged in oak barrels, it offers an opulent, nectar-like profile of candied apricots, honey, ginger, and white flowers, balanced by a striking mineral precision from the region's classic granite soils. It represents a rare, sweet expression of an appellation famous for dry wines.

Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, Domaine E. Guigal has become one of the Rhône Valley's most illustrious and influential wine estates. Now managed by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the family is headquartered at the historic Château d'Ampuis, where they craft legendary wines that define the northern and southern Rhône. The estate is globally renowned for its iconic Côte-Rôtie single-vineyard bottlings—La Mouline, La Turque, and La Landonne—as well as the opulent Condrieu La Doriane. Their uncompromising production philosophy emphasizes extremely long barrel aging in their custom, in-house cooperage, resulting in wines of extraordinary depth, structure, and longevity.
