The estate of Egon Müller has been the custodian of this mythical terroir since 1797, when the family acquired land formerly owned by the Benedictine monastery of St. Paul. The Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese is a monument to patience and precision. Crafted from 100% Riesling grapes meticulously selected hand-by-hand, this wine captures the magic of noble rot (botrytis) combined with the cool-climate tension of weathered grey and red Devonian slate soils. Fermented in traditional neutral oak Fuder casks using indigenous yeasts, the wine achieves a breathtaking, gravity-defying balance between luscious, honeyed sweetness and a piercing, electric acidity that is the hallmark of the Saar.

Weingut Egon Müller-Scharzhof traces its heritage to 1797 when Jean-Jacques Koch acquired the historic estate, nestled in Wiltingen along the Saar valley within Germany's famed Mosel region.
