Crafted by the legendary Egon Müller under the historic Le Gallais estate—acquired by the Müller family in 1954—this rare Riesling hails from the steep, south-facing amphitheater of the Wiltinger Braune Kupp. Unlike the cool, grey slate of Scharzhofberg, the Braune Kupp is characterized by iron-rich red slate soils, which impart a distinctively spicy, opulent, and exotic stone-fruit character to the wine. The 'Goldkapsel' designation denotes an extraordinary selection of botrytized grapes of sublime concentration, while the 'Auktion' status indicates this specific lot was reserved exclusively for the prestigious annual VDP auction in Trier. This wine represents the absolute zenith of traditional Mosel winemaking, where intense natural sweetness is perfectly balanced by a spine of electric, vibrating acidity.
