Montevista represents an approachable and vibrant expression of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted by the pioneering team at Emiliana. Sourced from the expansive terroirs of Chile's Central Valley, this wine benefits from a classic Mediterranean climate where warm, sun-drenched days are tempered by cool evening breezes descending from the Andes Mountains. This dramatic diurnal temperature shift allows the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness while retaining fresh acidity. The history of Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile is illustrious; imported from Bordeaux in the mid-19th century, these vines thrived on their own roots due to the country's natural geographic barriers protecting it from phylloxera. In the Montevista bottling, the focus is on showcasing this pure, unadulterated varietal character, delivering a fruit-forward profile with soft tannins and subtle spice, reflective of the valley's fertile soils and sustainable viticultural heritage.

Emiliana blev grundlagt i 1986 af Guilisasti-familien og har siden udviklet sig til verdens førende producent af økologiske og biodynamiske vine. I slutningen af 1990'erne gik den visionære direktør Rafael Guilisasti sammen med den anerkendte konsulterende vinmager Álvaro Espinoza for at bane vejen for bæredygtig vinavl på tværs af Chiles mest prestigefyldte vinregioner, herunder Casablanca, Maipo, Colchagua og Cachapoal Valleys. Emiliana arbejder ud fra Demeter-certificerede biodynamiske principper, hvor syntetiske sprøjtemidler fravælges til fordel for naturlige præparater og lokal biodiversitet for at lade terroiret komme rent til udtryk. Vingården er særligt berømt for sine biodynamiske flagskibsrødvine, heriblandt Coyam og Gê, samt karakterfulde enkeltmarksvine på Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon og Syrah.
