Emiliana's Signos de Origen Carmenere is a tribute to the unique relationship between terroir and grape variety, sourced from the biodynamically farmed Los Robles estate in the Colchagua Valley. The story of Chilean Carmenere is one of viticultural resurrection; once a key blending grape in Bordeaux, it was wiped out in Europe by phylloxera, only to be rediscovered in Chile in 1994 after being mistaken for Merlot for over a century. Under Emiliana's pioneering organic and biodynamic practices, this Carmenere is allowed to express its purest form. The vineyard's warm climate, moderated by gentle breezes, coaxes optimal ripeness from this late-ripening variety, mitigating its aggressive green notes and enhancing its signature spicy, dark-fruit character. The wine is typically aged in French oak barrels to add structure, complexity, and a velvety texture.
