Errazuriz's Las Pizarras Chardonnay represents a groundbreaking chapter in Chilean viticulture, born from the cool, maritime hills of Aconcagua Costa just 12 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. The name 'Las Pizarras' pays homage to the rare metamorphic slate (schist) soils that define these specific vineyard blocks. This unique terroir, combined with cold ocean breezes and morning mists, imparts an extraordinary mineral tension and crystalline purity to the wine. Crafted with Burgundian inspiration, the grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed before undergoing fermentation with native yeasts in French oak barrels. To preserve its vibrant, laser-like acidity and saline character, malolactic fermentation is carefully restricted, resulting in a world-class Chardonnay that balances intense citrus and stone fruit notes with a profound, stony minerality.
