✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the high-altitude heights of Tupungato in Mendoza's famed Uco Valley, the Zuccardi Apelación Chardonnay is a masterclass in mountain viticulture. Sebastián Zuccardi's vision for this wine is to strip away the heavy, buttery oak influences of old-school New World Chardonnay, focusing instead on the pure, electric energy of the Andes. Grown at elevations exceeding 1,100 meters, the grapes experience extreme diurnal temperature shifts, preserving a piercing natural acidity. Fermented and aged primarily in concrete vessels, this wine pays homage to the stony, calcareous soils of the region. The result is a beautifully textured white that balances fresh citrus and white stone fruit with a distinct, chalky minerality that reflects the rugged beauty of the Tupungato landscape.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi in Mendoza, Argentina, Familia Zuccardi has evolved into one of the country's most visionary and prestigious family-owned wine dynasties. Under the leadership of José Alberto Zuccardi and third-generation winemaker Sebastián Zuccardi, the estate has shifted its focus towards high-altitude viticulture in the Uco Valley, pioneering deep geological research and unadorned concrete-vessel fermentations to express genuine site specificity. Operating state-of-the-art facilities like the acclaimed Piedra Infinita winery in Paraje Altamira, Zuccardi produces benchmark, mineral-driven Malbecs such as Finca Piedra Infinita alongside benchmark expressions of Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon across red, white, sparkling, and fortified categories.
