✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the sun-drenched terraces of the Rasteau appellation in the southern Rhône Valley, Famille Perrin's 'L'Andéol' is a powerful tribute to the region's rich history and rugged terroir. The cuvée is named in honor of Saint Andéol, a 2nd-century Roman soldier and martyr who brought evangelism to the Rhône. Grown on steep, south-facing slopes characterized by blue clay and stone-covered soils, the vines benefit from intense heat retention and excellent drainage. Famille Perrin utilizes traditional vinification methods, including aging in a combination of large oak foudres and stainless steel vats, to balance Rasteau's natural, muscular structure and dark fruit profile with vibrant freshness and refined tannins.
🍾 About the Producer
Famille Perrin is one of the Southern Rhône Valley's most esteemed winemaking dynasties, famously anchored by the historic Château de Beaucastel estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Guided by generations of the Perrin family, the domaine became a pioneering champion of organic farming in 1950 and biodynamic viticulture in 1974 under the visionary stewardship of Jacques Perrin. Their winemaking philosophy centers on authentic terroir expression, biodiversity, and the preservation of artisanal blending traditions, famously utilizing all thirteen permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape varieties with an emphasis on Mourvèdre. Today, Famille Perrin crafts a prestigious and multifaceted portfolio ranging from the legendary, age-worthy Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin to quintessential expressions of Gigondas, Cairanne, and classic Côtes du Rhône.
