Hailing from the sun-drenched terraces of the Vacqueyras appellation, Les Christins is a testament to the Famille Perrin's mastery of the southern Rhône's diverse terroirs. The wine takes its name from a historic lieu-dit characterized by stony, clay-limestone soils covered with smooth river stones that absorb the daytime heat and radiate it back to the vines at night. This specific plot is home to old Grenache vines, which provide the backbone of the blend, offering deep concentration and rich dark fruit flavors. Complemented by Syrah, which adds structure, color, and a signature cracked black pepper spice, the wine is crafted using traditional vinification methods and aged in oak foudres to preserve its vibrant fruit character while softening the tannins. The result is a robust, earthy, and remarkably elegant expression of Vacqueyras.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in the southern Rhône Valley and closely tied to the legendary Château de Beaucastel since 1909, Famille Perrin is one of France's most respected winemaking dynasties. Under the visionary guidance of Jacques Perrin and subsequent generations, the family pioneered organic viticulture in 1950 and biodynamic farming in 1974. Based in Courthézon, they are celebrated for their masterful blending of all thirteen permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape varieties, aging their wines in traditional large oak foudres to preserve purity and terroir. Their world-class portfolio ranges from the iconic, Mourvèdre-dominant Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin to expressive regional selections like Les Sinards and La Gille.
