The Frauenweingarten (literally 'women's vineyard') is situated on the flatter, sandy-gravelly soils near the Danube River at the foot of Oberloiben's steep terraces. Local legend suggests the vineyard's name originates from medieval times when the land was owned by a local convent or dedicated to the Virgin Mary. This unique terroir of alluvial river stones and loess is perfectly suited to the Grüner Veltliner grape, yielding a lighter, highly aromatic style. Classified as a Federspiel—named after the traditional falconry lure—this wine represents the classic, elegant middle tier of the Wachau classification. F.X. Pichler crafts this wine to emphasize freshness, utilizing precise stainless steel fermentation alongside traditional large oak casks to maintain a vibrant profile of white pepper, crisp green apple, and wet-stone minerality.

Established in 1898 in the village of Oberloiben within Austria's prestigious Wachau region, the F.X. Pichler estate is globally revered as a pinnacle of dry white wine production. Currently managed by Lucas Pichler, the winery crafts world-class Grüner Veltliner and Riesling from legendary, steep stone-terraced vineyards such as Kellerberg, Loibenberg, and Steinertal. The family's production philosophy focuses on meticulous hand-harvesting and precise cellar work, utilizing large, traditional oak casks to preserve the intense minerality and structural purity of their terroir. F.X. Pichler is celebrated for iconic, powerful expressions like the 'M' Grüner Veltliner and the monumental 'Unendlich' Riesling, which epitomize the depth and longevity of Wachau's finest wines.
