Hailing from the historic Tenuta di Castiglioni, the oldest estate of the noble Frescobaldi family where viticulture began in 1300, Giramonte is a modern, luxurious expression of Tuscan winemaking. Located in the gentle hills of Montespertoli southwest of Florence, the estate benefits from a warm microclimate and clay-rich soils ideal for cultivating Merlot and Sangiovese. Giramonte is a single-vineyard Cru, typically dominated by Merlot with a small blending portion of Sangiovese, aged meticulously in French oak barriques. This wine represents a bridge between the family's deep historical roots—which include supplying wine to the Renaissance courts of Europe and artists like Donatello—and a contemporary, opulent style characterized by dense dark fruit, velvety tannins, and complex spicy undertones.
