Tenuta Castiglioni, nestled in the rolling hills of Montespertoli southwest of Florence, is the ancestral heart of the Frescobaldi family's winemaking legacy, with agricultural records dating back to 1092. It was at this historic estate that the family first began cultivating vines, establishing a heritage that has spanned over thirty generations. The Castiglioni Chianti represents a vibrant, highly approachable expression of this historic terroir. Crafted predominantly from Sangiovese with a small addition of Merlot, the wine benefits from the estate's warm microclimate and fertile clay-limestone soils. To preserve its bright, fruit-forward character, the wine is fermented and aged primarily in stainless steel and concrete vats, avoiding heavy oak influence to let the pure varietal expression shine. The result is a classic Tuscan red defined by notes of fresh red cherry, wild strawberry, and subtle floral undertones.
