Hailing from the historic Castello Pomino estate nestled in the cool, high-altitude Apennine foothills of Tuscany, Leonia Brut is a tribute to the audacious spirit of Leonia Frescobaldi. In the late 19th century, Leonia planted French grape varieties on her estate and went on to win a gold medal at the 1878 Paris Exposition. This Metodo Classico sparkling wine, crafted primarily from Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, benefits from the estate's unique microclimate, sandy-volcanic soils, and significant diurnal temperature shifts. The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and is aged on its lees for several years, resulting in a sophisticated sparkling wine that beautifully marries Tuscan terroir with the elegance of traditional-method sparkling production.
