Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni represents the historical heart of the Frescobaldi family's winemaking legacy, originating from their oldest estate in Val di Pesa, southwest of Florence, where viticulture began as early as 1300. This wine is a modern, expressive interpretation of the estate's unique terroir, typically crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a touch of Sangiovese. The vines thrive in fertile clay and limestone soils under a warm, breezy microclimate, which coaxes out lush fruit characteristics. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barriques for approximately 12 months, followed by further refinement in the bottle. This process yields a deeply colored, robust red characterized by rich aromas of dark cherry, blueberry, and sweet spices, framed by supple tannins and a vibrant, elegant finish.
