The G.H. Mumm Cordon Rosé Vintage is a prestigious expression of the house's historic mastery of Pinot Noir, dating back to its founding in 1827 in Reims. Produced only in exceptional years, this vintage cuvée captures the unique climatic signature of a single harvest. The blend is anchored by a significant majority of Pinot Noir, sourced primarily from the Grand Cru villages of the Montagne de Reims, which provides the structure and intense red fruit character for which Mumm is celebrated. Chardonnay adds elegance and mineral precision, while a touch of Pinot Meunier contributes roundness. The beautiful salmon-pink hue and complex berry aromas are achieved through the traditional assemblage method, incorporating a small percentage of still red wine from the house's finest Pinot Noir parcels. Aged on its lees for several years in the historic chalk cellars, the wine develops a sophisticated complexity, marrying fresh wild strawberry and redcurrant notes with undertones of warm brioche, spice, and subtle smoke.
