Named in honor of the legendary René Lalou, who steered the house of G.H. Mumm with visionary brilliance for nearly fifty years, this prestige cuvée is a rare masterwork of Champagne craftsmanship. First created in 1966, the cuvée was resurrected to showcase the absolute pinnacle of Mumm's terroir. It is crafted from an exceptional, meticulous selection of Grand Cru parcels—typically an equal, harmonious marriage of Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Each parcel is vinified separately to preserve its distinct voice before blending. The wine undergoes extensive aging on its lees for a decade or more in the historic chalk cellars of Reims, resulting in a Champagne of profound complexity, characterized by mineral tension, toasted brioche notes, and a majestic, creamy texture.
