First created in 1882 for the exclusive enjoyment of the house's directors and close friends, Mumm de Cramant carries a rich heritage. Traditionally, bottles were delivered by hand accompanied by a folded visiting card, a custom still commemorated by the unique folded corner of its label. Crafted entirely from Chardonnay harvested from the chalky soils of the single Grand Cru village of Cramant in the Côte des Blancs, this cuvée is celebrated for its lower bottling pressure of around 4.5 atmospheres instead of the standard 6. This deliberate technique yields a remarkably delicate, creamy effervescence, highlighting the pure, mineral-driven elegance, white flower aromas, and citrus precision characteristic of Cramant's exceptional terroir.
