✨ wine.spec_sheet

Named in honor of the visionary president who guided G.H. Mumm for nearly half a century, Cuvée René Lalou represents the pinnacle of the house's winemaking. René Lalou was a legendary figure who rebuilt the house's vineyards after the devastation of the World Wars and established its reputation for uncompromising quality. First released with the 1966 vintage, this rare prestige cuvée is crafted from an exceptional, highly selective blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced exclusively from historic Grand Cru parcels within the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. These specific plots are chosen for their distinct chalky terroir. The wine undergoes extended aging on its lees in the deep chalk cellars of Reims, resulting in a Champagne of extraordinary complexity, structure, and refined autolytic character, balancing rich brioche notes with vibrant mineral tension.
