Named in honor of the legendary 14th-century Italian poet Petrarch (Pétrarque), who spent some of his most creative years in the Vaucluse region near Avignon, this cuvée from Maison Gabriel Meffre celebrates the deep historical and cultural roots of the southern Rhône Valley. Crafted primarily from classic regional varieties grown on sun-drenched clay and limestone soils, the Saint-Pétrarque embodies the traditional, approachable style of the region. The vineyards benefit from the warm Mediterranean climate and the purifying Mistral wind, which naturally concentrates the flavors in the grapes. Vinified with a focus on preserving fresh red fruit characteristics and soft, supple tannins, this wine offers an authentic taste of the Rhône's vibrant landscape and poetic heritage.

Gabriel Meffre blev grundlagt i 1936 af ægteparret Gabriel og Juliette Meffre i den historiske landsby Gigondas. Siden da har vinhuset udviklet sig til en af det sydlige Rhônes absolutte benchmark-producenter og førende négociant-éleveurs. Huset råder over marker i anerkendte appellationer på tværs af Rhône, Provence og Pays d'Oc, hvor de forener stolte regionale traditioner med moderne præcision og et kompromisløst fokus på bæredygtigt vinbrug. Gabriel Meffre er særligt berømt for sine elegante, terroir-drevne rød-, hvid- og rosévine – ikke mindst de prestigefyldte Laurus-cuvéer, der fremhæver klassiske druesorter som Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre og Viognier gennem minutiøs parceludvælgelse og skræddersyet fadlagring på egetræsfade.
