✨ Tekniske specifikationer
Gaja's Grappa Darmagi carries a name steeped in Piedmontese family lore. In 1978, when Angelo Gaja decided to plant Cabernet Sauvignon in a historic Nebbiolo vineyard in Barbaresco, his father, Giovanni Gaja, famously muttered 'darmagi'—meaning 'what a pity' in the local dialect—lamenting the foreign grape replacing the sacred native vine. Today, this exceptional grappa is distilled from the fresh pomace of those very Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Crafted using traditional copper alembic stills, Gaja preserves the intense, structured character of the variety. The distillate is subsequently aged in wood, imparting a warm amber hue and refining the spirit with complex notes of dark berries, spice, licorice, and vanilla, beautifully bridging the gap between rustic Italian tradition and modern elegance.
Ejendommen opnåede for alvor international stjernestatus under Angelo Gajas skelsættende ledelse.
