Gaja's DaGromis, often referred to as Gromis, pays homage to the Gromis family, the original owners of the prized vineyard in La Morra before the legendary Gaja family acquired the estate in 1995. Crafted from 100% Nebbiolo, this Barolo DOCG beautifully marries fruit sourced from the soft, calcareous clay soils of La Morra with the more structured, iron-rich terroir of Serralunga d'Alba. The wine undergoes a meticulous vinification process, including fermentation in stainless steel followed by 12 months of aging in barriques and an additional 12 months in large traditional oak casks. This thoughtful blending and aging regime yields a Barolo of remarkable harmony, balancing the ethereal, floral perfume typical of La Morra with the robust, age-worthy structure of Serralunga.
