While Domaine Geantet-Pansiot is legendary for its structured, deep Pinot Noirs from the Côte de Nuits, their Bourgogne Gamay represents a fascinating dialogue between northern Burgundian winemaking expertise and the expressive Gamay grape. Historically, Gamay was famously banished from the Côte d'Or in 1395 by Duke Philip the Bold, who declared it a 'very bad and disloyal plant' in favor of Pinot Noir. Under the modern Bourgogne Gamay appellation rules, Geantet-Pansiot applies their signature meticulous standards to this fruit, including strict sorting and cold pre-fermentation maceration. The result is a wine that marries the bright, juicy, red-berry exuberance of Gamay with the refined texture, depth, and elegant structure typical of a classic Gevrey-Chambertin producer.

Domaine Geantet-Pansiot blev grundlagt i 1954 af Edmond Geantet og Bernadette Pansiot og er en anerkendt, familiedrevet vingård med base i den berømte Côte de Nuits-landsby Gevrey-Chambertin i Bourgogne. Ejendommen voksede markant under ledelse af Edmonds søn Vincent, som trådte ind i foretagendet i 1982, og drives i dag i tæt samspil med Vincents søn Fabien, hvilket viderefører familiens stolte håndværkstradition. Vingården er berømt for sin kompromisløse markpleje og minutiøse sortering under høsten. Ved hjælp af en længere koldmaceration inden gæringen og en velafbalanceret fadlagring skabes vine med en enestående dybde, fløjlsblød tekstur og ren aromatisk præcision. Domaine Geantet-Pansiot nyder særlig stor anerkendelse for sine Pinot Noir-aftapninger fra gamle vinstokke fordelt over prestigefyldte terroirs – lige fra Bourgogne og Marsannay til Premier Cru og Grand Cru-marker som Charmes-Chambertin.
