G rard Bertrand's 'An 462' pays homage to a pivotal moment in Languedoc history: the year 462 AD, when the Visigoths established Narbonne as a key stronghold, fostering a peaceful era where viticulture could flourish. Crafted as a tribute to this ancient heritage, this Languedoc AOC red wine is a classic blend of Syrah and Grenache, grown on sun-drenched clay-limestone soils cooled by Mediterranean breezes. The grapes undergo traditional maceration, with a portion of the wine aged in French oak barrels to soften the structure. The result is a deeply expressive red, weaving together rich notes of ripe blackberries, wild garrigue herbs, and sweet spices, capturing the wild, untamed beauty of the South of France.

Established in 1992 by former French international rugby player Gérard Bertrand following the legacy of his father Georges at Domaine de Villemajou, the estate has emerged as an undisputed pioneer of fine wine in the Languedoc.
