✨ Technical Specifications
Crafted by the visionary Gérard Bertrand, a champion of ecological harmony in the South of France, the Pollinat Chardonnay is named in honor of the vital pollinators that sustain the vineyard's rich ecosystem. Sourced from the IGP Cévennes, where the rugged foothills of the Massif Central meet the Mediterranean influence, this wine benefits from a cooler microclimate. The dramatic diurnal temperature shifts of the Cévennes allow the Chardonnay grapes to develop complex aromatic profiles while retaining a vibrant, refreshing acidity. Vinified primarily in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve its pure fruit expression, this cuvée beautifully reflects its clay-limestone terroir through a signature blend of crisp green apple, white floral notes, and a clean, mineral-driven finish.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded by former international rugby player Gérard Bertrand in 1992, the Gérard Bertrand estate has grown from its family roots at Domaine de Villemajou into a global benchmark for the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. Headquartered at Château l'Hospitalet within the coastal La Clape appellation, the producer champions biodynamic viticulture across hundreds of hectares of premium vineyard estates. With an unwavering commitment to biodiversity, terroir expression, and sustainability, Bertrand crafts an expansive portfolio spanning still, sparkling, and fortified wines. The estate is globally celebrated for ambitious cuvées such as Cigalus, Clos d'Ora, and Château l'Hospitalet, as well as pristine dry rosés, expressive varietal bottlings, and historic Vins Doux Naturels.
