Named in honor of the Manson brothers who established the distillery in 1797, Glen Garioch Founder's Reserve is a celebration of the historic Garioch region in Aberdeenshire, historically referred to as the 'Granary of Aberdeenshire' due to its exceptionally fertile barley-growing lands. This Highland single malt is crafted using traditional methods, utilizing the local water source from the Silent Spring. Aged primarily in first-fill North American oak bourbon casks, it showcases the distillery's signature robust, honeyed, and malt-forward character. The absence of chill-filtration preserves its natural oils and complex textures, delivering a spirit rich with notes of sweet vanilla, butterscotch, green apple, and a warm, citrusy spice.

Glen Garioch (udtales 'Glen Geery') blev grundlagt i 1797 af John og Alexander Manson og er et af Skotlands ældste kontinuerligt aktive destillerier samt det mest østligt beliggende i Highland-regionen. Destilleriet ligger i markedsbyen Oldmeldrum i den frugtbare Garioch-dal – historisk hyldet som 'Aberdeenshires kornkammer' – hvor det nyder godt af førsteklasses lokalt byg og mineralrigt kildevand fra Silent Spring ved Coutens Farm. Under Suntory Global Spirits' ejerskab (via Morrison Bowmore Distillers) har Glen Garioch gennemgået en skelsættende modernisering, som genindførte klassisk gulvmaltning og direkte fyrede wash stills af kobber. Denne traditionelle produktionsmetode, kombineret med en gæringstid på 50 timer, tilfører whiskyen dens karakteristiske fyldige, voksagtige og honningsøde profil med fine noter af plantagefrugt og varme kornnoter. Destilleriet er berømt for sine ufiltrerede (non-chill-filtered) aftapninger ved høj alkoholstyrke, hvor flagskibet Founder's Reserve, den 12-årige udgave og de eksklusive årgange ved fadstyrke markerer sig som absolutte højdepunkter.
