✨ wine.spec_sheet

Nestled in the fertile Garioch valley of Aberdeenshire, historically known as the 'Granary of Aberdeenshire' for its exceptional barley, Glen Garioch is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. This single barrel 'Full Cask' expression represents the pinnacle of Highland craftsmanship, showcasing the distillery's signature robust and malt-forward character. Traditionally crafted using local water and direct-fired copper pot stills, the spirit undergoes a slow maturation in a single selected oak cask. This patient aging process allows the whisky to absorb the deep, complex nuances of the wood, resulting in a rich profile of heather honey, warm baking spices, toasted oak, and ripe orchard fruits, reflecting the unique microclimate of the Eastern Highlands.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 1797 by John and Alexander Manson, Glen Garioch is one of Scotland's oldest operating distilleries, located in the historic market town of Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Now owned by Beam Suntory, the distillery is celebrated for its heritage and its recent return to traditional floor maltings and direct-fired heating for its copper pot stills. Glen Garioch is renowned for producing a robust, non-chill-filtered Highland single malt whisky, characterized by a rich, honeyed, and malt-forward profile with hints of heather, sweet spices, and, in its historic expressions, a delicate touch of peat smoke.
