Nestled in the historic market town of Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire, Glen Garioch is one of Scotland's oldest operating distilleries, dating back to 1797. The surrounding Garioch valley is legendary for its exceptionally fertile land, historically producing some of the finest barley in the country. This single malt expression, matured in a refill barrel (Cask No 2544), highlights the distillery's robust, honeyed, and malt-forward Highland character. Refill casks are highly valued by purists because they exert a gentler oak influence, allowing the distillery's natural fruity, spicy, and slightly waxy spirit character to shine through with remarkable clarity.
