✨ Technical Specifications
Steeped in the pioneering spirit of Dufftown, Scotland, the Glenfiddich Pure Single Malt 8 Year Old 70 Proof is a monumental release in spirits history. Founded by William Grant in 1886 with the help of his nine children, Glenfiddich—meaning 'Valley of the Deer' in Scottish Gaelic—pioneered the global single malt category. In the 1960s, when the world drank almost exclusively blended Scotch, Glenfiddich boldly marketed this 'Pure Malt' internationally in its iconic triangular bottle designed by Hans Schleger. Crafted using the pure waters of the Robbie Dhu spring and distilled in uniquely shaped copper pot stills, this historic expression represents the classic, elegant Speyside style of yesteryear. It offers a nostalgic sensory journey characterized by delicate orchard fruits, sweet heather honey, soft oak, and a gentle malty finish.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1886 by William Grant and constructed by hand with the help of his family, Glenfiddich Distillery is situated in the heart of Dufftown in Scotland's renowned Speyside region. Still independently owned by William Grant & Sons, the distillery made history in 1963 by pioneering the international single malt Scotch whisky category beyond traditional blended scotch. Glenfiddich crafts its spirits using the pristine waters of the nearby Robbie Dhu springs, distilling through distinctive copper pot stills and maintaining its own on-site cooperage to oversee maturation in premium American and European oak casks. Renowned worldwide for its iconic triangular bottle, the distillery produces an acclaimed spectrum of single malts characterized by signature orchard-fruit aromas, crisp green pear, delicate floral notes, and remarkable depth in its rare vintage releases.
