Single Malt 12YO

by Glenfiddich
Other Spirit wine.year 📍 Speyside, Scotland

⏳ wine.drinking_window

As a distilled single malt Scotch whisky, it does not mature further in the bottle. It is released at its peak of maturation and can be enjoyed immediately or kept indefinitely when stored upright in a cool, dark place.

✨ wine.spec_sheet

Hailing from the Valley of the Deer (Gaelic: 'Glenfiddich') in Dufftown, Speyside, this legendary single malt is the signature expression of the distillery founded by William Grant in 1887. Built by hand by Grant and his nine children, the distillery has remained family-owned for generations. The 12 Year Old is carefully matured in fine American oak ex-bourbon and European oak Oloroso sherry casks before being married in oak tuns to achieve its famously smooth, harmonious character. Characterized by its fresh pear and orchard fruit aromas, subtle oak, and delicate maltiness, it is housed in the iconic triangular bottle designed by Hans Schleger in 1957, representing the three pillars of whisky making: water, yeast, and malted barley.
