✨ wine.spec_sheet

Nestled in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, Glenfiddich—meaning 'Valley of the Deer' in Gaelic—was founded by William Grant in 1886. The distillery's legendary 40-Year-Old Single Malt is a masterpiece of Scotch whisky craftsmanship, renowned for its unique 'remnant vatting' process. In this meticulous method, Glenfiddich's Malt Master hand-selects some of the oldest and finest casks of Oloroso sherry and American oak, marrying them in a dedicated tun with remnants of the previous 40-year-old batch. This creates a continuous, living liquid lineage that dates back decades. The spirit itself is distilled using the same unusually small, uniquely shaped copper pot stills installed by William Grant himself, and is cut with the pristine, mineral-rich waters of the Robbie Dhu spring. The result is an extraordinarily rich, dark, and complex mahogany-hued malt, offering deep layers of dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and faint peat smoke.
