✨ Technical Specifications
Glenfiddich, founded by William Grant in 1886 in the valley of the River Fiddich (Gaelic for 'Valley of the Deer'), stands as an icon of Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. The legendary 50-Year-Old expression is a masterwork of patience and heritage, representing a marriage of exceptionally rare casks matured for half a century in the distillery's stone warehouses. This precious liquid, bottled at 46.1% ABV, reflects decades of interaction between the spirit, Spanish Oloroso sherry butts, and American oak casks. It carries a rich narrative of Speyside's microclimate, where cool temperatures and soft water from the Robbie Dhu springs slowly shape a spirit of unparalleled complexity, marked by deep oak, silky tannins, and delicate floral notes.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1886 by William Grant and constructed by hand with the help of his family, Glenfiddich Distillery is situated in the heart of Dufftown in Scotland's renowned Speyside region. Still independently owned by William Grant & Sons, the distillery made history in 1963 by pioneering the international single malt Scotch whisky category beyond traditional blended scotch. Glenfiddich crafts its spirits using the pristine waters of the nearby Robbie Dhu springs, distilling through distinctive copper pot stills and maintaining its own on-site cooperage to oversee maturation in premium American and European oak casks. Renowned worldwide for its iconic triangular bottle, the distillery produces an acclaimed spectrum of single malts characterized by signature orchard-fruit aromas, crisp green pear, delicate floral notes, and remarkable depth in its rare vintage releases.
