✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the legendary Speyside region of Scotland, the Glenfiddich Single Malt IPA Experiment represents a groundbreaking crossover between traditional distilling and craft brewing. Conceived by Malt Master Brian Kinsman in collaboration with a local Speyside craft brewer, this expression is the first single malt Scotch whisky to be finished in bespoke India Pale Ale craft beer casks. The process began by brewing a vibrant, citrusy IPA specifically designed to season the oak casks. Once the beer had imbued the wood with its hoppy, zesty character, the casks were emptied and filled with Glenfiddich single malt for a finishing period. This innovative technique layers the classic Speyside profile of green apple, pear, and creamy vanilla with vibrant notes of fresh hops, tangy citrus, and a delicate herbal warmth, paying homage to Glenfiddich's spirit of pioneering experimentation since 1887.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1886 by William Grant and constructed by hand with the help of his family, Glenfiddich Distillery is situated in the heart of Dufftown in Scotland's renowned Speyside region. Still independently owned by William Grant & Sons, the distillery made history in 1963 by pioneering the international single malt Scotch whisky category beyond traditional blended scotch. Glenfiddich crafts its spirits using the pristine waters of the nearby Robbie Dhu springs, distilling through distinctive copper pot stills and maintaining its own on-site cooperage to oversee maturation in premium American and European oak casks. Renowned worldwide for its iconic triangular bottle, the distillery produces an acclaimed spectrum of single malts characterized by signature orchard-fruit aromas, crisp green pear, delicate floral notes, and remarkable depth in its rare vintage releases.
