Nestled in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, the Glenfiddich distillery was founded in 1886 by William Grant and his family, who built the distillery stone by stone. The name Glenfiddich is Gaelic for 'Valley of the Deer', a motif reflected in the distillery's iconic stag emblem. The legendary 40-Year-Old Single Malt is a masterpiece of patient maturation and liquid history. It is crafted using a pioneering 'remnant vatting' process, where the master distiller marries casks of exceptional age with remnants from the previous 40-year-old batch, creating a continuous sensory link across generations. Matured in a combination of fine Oloroso sherry and American oak casks, this rare spirit absorbs the damp, cool Speyside climate, resulting in an incredibly complex profile of dark chocolate, dried fruits, roasted coffee, and faint peat smoke, all softened by decades of gentle breathing in traditional stone dunnage warehouses.
