✨ Technical Specifications
An extraordinary relic of Speyside history, The Glenlivet 'For the Chairman' 21 Year Old, bottled in 1984, is a legendary single malt that captures the essence of a bygone era. Distilled in the early 1960s, this expression was originally selected from the distillery's most exceptional casks, a tribute to the historic tradition of reserving the finest spirits for the chairman's private stock and esteemed guests. Drawing mineral-rich water from Josie's Well and distilled in Glenlivet's signature lantern-shaped copper pot stills, this whisky underwent over two decades of slow maturation. The result is an incredibly complex, elegant spirit boasting notes of rich dried fruits, soft oak spices, heather honey, and a delicate whisper of peat smoke, representing the pinnacle of traditional Speyside craftsmanship.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1824 by George Smith in the remote Livet Valley of Speyside, Scotland, The Glenlivet holds historic distinction as the first legally licensed distillery in the parish following the 1823 Excise Act. Today part of Chivas Brothers under Pernod Ricard, the distillery draws mineral-rich water from Josie's Well and employs tall, lantern-shaped copper pot stills to achieve a remarkably light and refined distillation. The Glenlivet is celebrated for setting the benchmark of classic Speyside single malt whisky, defined by a smooth, fruit-forward profile laden with orchard apples, delicate floral tones, and subtle oak, as showcased in acclaimed expressions ranging from its iconic 12 Year Old to rare editions in the Winchester and Cellar Collections.
