✨ Technical Specifications
The Glenlivet Nàdurra range—meaning 'natural' in Gaelic—is crafted as a tribute to the traditional, small-batch methods of 19th-century whisky making. Unlike modern chill-filtered expressions, the Nàdurra is bottled at cask strength, preserving the natural oils and proteins that give the spirit its signature mouthfeel and cloudy complexity when water is added. The Oloroso Matured expression, specifically Batch OL0317 bottled in 2017, is aged exclusively in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks imported from the Jerez region of Spain. This maturation process marries the bright, orchard-fruit and floral distillate of Glenlivet's famous lantern-shaped copper stills with the deep, opulent notes of dried fruits, warm baking spices, and dark chocolate characteristic of active sherry wood.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1824 by George Smith in the remote Livet Valley of Speyside, Scotland, The Glenlivet holds historic distinction as the first legally licensed distillery in the parish following the 1823 Excise Act. Today part of Chivas Brothers under Pernod Ricard, the distillery draws mineral-rich water from Josie's Well and employs tall, lantern-shaped copper pot stills to achieve a remarkably light and refined distillation. The Glenlivet is celebrated for setting the benchmark of classic Speyside single malt whisky, defined by a smooth, fruit-forward profile laden with orchard apples, delicate floral tones, and subtle oak, as showcased in acclaimed expressions ranging from its iconic 12 Year Old to rare editions in the Winchester and Cellar Collections.
