✨ Technical Specifications

The Glenlivet 'Alt nan Seileach' Single Cask Edition is a rare, limited-run single malt named after the 'Willow Burn'—a historic tributary flowing through the remote, windswept hills of Speyside that has long nourished the wild landscape surrounding the distillery. Distilled in 2001 and matured for 14 years in a single oak cask (Cask #5403) before being bottled in 2015, this expression represents the pinnacle of Glenlivet's traditional craftsmanship. The distillery's signature tall, lantern-shaped copper pot stills impart a remarkably bright, floral, and fruity character to the spirit, which then develops deep complexity during its long, undisturbed slumber. Because it is bottled at cask strength without chill-filtration, it offers an unadulterated glimpse into the pure, historic style of Speyside whisky-making, echoing the legendary drams that George Smith smuggled through the glen in the early 19th century.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1824 by George Smith in the remote Livet Valley of Speyside, Scotland, The Glenlivet holds historic distinction as the first legally licensed distillery in the parish following the 1823 Excise Act. Today part of Chivas Brothers under Pernod Ricard, the distillery draws mineral-rich water from Josie's Well and employs tall, lantern-shaped copper pot stills to achieve a remarkably light and refined distillation. The Glenlivet is celebrated for setting the benchmark of classic Speyside single malt whisky, defined by a smooth, fruit-forward profile laden with orchard apples, delicate floral tones, and subtle oak, as showcased in acclaimed expressions ranging from its iconic 12 Year Old to rare editions in the Winchester and Cellar Collections.
