✨ Technical Specifications

This rare single cask expression from The Glenlivet showcases the distillery's exceptional spirit aged exclusively in a single European oak Sherry butt (Cask No. 54309) for 15 years before being bottled in 2018. The Glenlivet's history is steeped in the lore of the wild Glenlivet valley, where George Smith famously carried a pair of hair-trigger pistols to protect his distillery from jealous illicit distillers after becoming the first to obtain a legal license in 1824. While the distillery is famous for its smooth, floral, and fruity signature style, this limited single cask release offers a deeper, more robust dimension. The influence of the Sherry butt imparts rich notes of dried dark fruits, warm baking spices, and toasted nuts, beautifully complementing the bright, orchard-fruit character of the distillery's classic lantern-shaped copper pot still distillate.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1824 by George Smith in the remote Livet Valley of Speyside, Scotland, The Glenlivet holds historic distinction as the first legally licensed distillery in the parish following the 1823 Excise Act. Today part of Chivas Brothers under Pernod Ricard, the distillery draws mineral-rich water from Josie's Well and employs tall, lantern-shaped copper pot stills to achieve a remarkably light and refined distillation. The Glenlivet is celebrated for setting the benchmark of classic Speyside single malt whisky, defined by a smooth, fruit-forward profile laden with orchard apples, delicate floral tones, and subtle oak, as showcased in acclaimed expressions ranging from its iconic 12 Year Old to rare editions in the Winchester and Cellar Collections.
