The Glenlivet's legacy is deeply rooted in the wild, remote hills of Speyside, where George Smith famously risked his life to distill what would become Scotland's most celebrated single malt. Long before receiving the parish's first legal license in 1824, Smith's smooth, elegant spirit was so coveted that even King George IV demanded it by name during his historic 1822 visit to Edinburgh. This rare Triple Cask Matured expression represents the pinnacle of the distillery's wood management. By marrying spirits aged in three distinct cask types—typically traditional oak, American white oak, and ex-sherry casks—the liquid achieves an extraordinary depth. The unique lantern-shaped copper pot stills, designed by George Smith himself, ensure a light, fruity, and floral distillate that interacts beautifully with the wood, resulting in a complex, multi-layered whisky of exceptional character.

Established in 1824 by George Smith in the remote Glenlivet valley of Speyside, Scotland, The Glenlivet is legendary as the first licensed distillery in the parish, setting the standard for Speyside single malts. Now owned by Pernod Ricard, the distillery draws its mineral-rich water from Josie's Well and utilizes lantern-shaped copper pot stills to produce a characteristically bright, elegant, and fruity spirit. The Glenlivet is globally renowned for its exceptional wood management, utilizing traditional oak, American white oak, and French Limousin oak casks to age signature expressions such as the 12 Year Old, the 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve, and the rare Winchester Collection.
