Born in the wild, mist-shrouded hills of Speyside, where George Smith famously defied local smugglers to secure the region's first legal distilling license in 1824, this expression is crafted using the distillery's signature lantern-shaped copper pot stills. These tall stills encourage maximum copper contact, imparting an incredibly elegant and fruity character to the spirit. Over a quarter of a century, the whisky develops a profound complexity, absorbing the rich, nutty, and dried-fruit influences of the Spanish sherry wood. Each batch, including Batch No 0220F, is individually monitored and finished, resulting in a luxurious tapestry of dark chocolate, warm spices, toasted nuts, and sweet sultanas.
