Initially matured in select American white oak ex-bourbon casks for eight years, the whisky is then transferred to rare Palo Cortado sherry casks for an additional four years of finishing. Palo Cortado is a legendary, naturally occurring sherry style that combines the delicate, aromatic nose of an Amontillado with the rich, full-bodied character of an Oloroso. This intricate double-maturation process weaves Glenmorangie's signature citrus and vanilla notes with complex layers of roasted nuts, sweet spices, and dried fruits.
