✨ Technical Specifications
Nestled on the tranquil shores of the Dornoch Firth in the Scottish Highlands, the Glenmorangie Distillery has been crafting exceptional single malt whisky since 1843. Renowned for possessing the tallest copper pot stills in Scotland—which stand at the height of an adult giraffe—Glenmorangie produces an exceptionally light, elegant, and pure spirit. The Highland Single Malt 'Extremely Rare' 18 Year Old is a masterclass in wood management. The spirit spends its first 15 years maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. After this period, approximately 30% of the liquid is transferred into Spanish Oloroso sherry casks for a final three years of finishing, while the remainder continues its maturation in bourbon oak. Upon reaching 18 years, these components are reunited, marrying the vibrant, honeyed citrus notes of the bourbon wood with the deep, nutty, and dried-fruit complexity of the sherry wood to create a silky, multi-layered masterpiece.
