Hailing from the rolling hills of Tain in the Scottish Highlands, Glenmorangie has been crafting single malt whisky since 1843, utilizing Scotland's tallest copper pot stills—which stand at the height of an adult giraffe—to produce an exceptionally elegant and delicate spirit. The 'Nectar D'Or' (meaning 'golden nectar') is a masterclass in wood finishing. This expression is first aged for ten years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks to establish its soft, fruity foundation, before undergoing a two-year extra-maturation in hand-selected Sauternes sweet wine casks from Bordeaux. This finishing process infuses the whisky with luscious layers of honey, ginger, lemon curd, and warm pastry, beautifully marrying Highland single malt complexity with the opulent sweetness of French botrytized wines.
