Crafted in the far north of Scotland at the historic Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain, established in 1843, this Highland Single Malt represents a pioneering chapter in wood-finishing techniques. Glenmorangie is renowned for possessing the tallest copper pot stills in Scotland—reaching the height of an adult giraffe—which allow only the lightest and purest vapors to ascend, resulting in an exceptionally elegant spirit. For this expressive release, the delicate Highland spirit is first matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before undergoing a secondary maturation in hand-selected Sauternes wine casks from the famed sweet wine region of Bordeaux. This wood finish infuses the whisky with rich, dessert-like complexities, marrying the distillery's signature citrus and floral notes with luscious layers of honey, ginger, and toasted pastry.
