Hailing from the historic town of Tain in the Scottish Highlands, Glenmorangie is renowned for possessing the tallest copper pot stills in Scotland, which produce an exceptionally light, elegant, and floral spirit. This legendary release represents a pioneering chapter in wood finishing. Distilled in 1975 and matured initially in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, the whisky was subsequently transferred to French oak casks that previously held the prestigious Syrah wines of the Hermitage appellation in the Northern Rhône Valley. This finish imparts a dramatic crimson hue and weaves rich, dark fruit, toasted spices, and leathery complexity into the distillery's signature citrus and vanilla profile, celebrating a historic alliance between Scotch craftsmanship and French viticulture.
