The 'Chavigne Tri 25 ans' is a legendary, ultra-rare cuvée from Domaine Guffens-Heynen, crafted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jean-Marie Guffens and Maine Heynen's winemaking journey in Vergisson. Sourced from the iconic 'En Chavigne' vineyard—a steep, high-altitude plot of limestone and clay—this wine is produced through painstaking 'tries' (successive selective harvests) to capture only the most perfectly ripe, concentrated Chardonnay grapes. Jean-Marie Guffens, renowned for his rebellious spirit and refusal to conform to traditional Burgundian hierarchies, utilized natural yeast fermentation and extended lees aging to create a white wine of monumental power, rich texture, and piercing mineral acidity that famously rivals the finest Grand Crus of the Côte de Beaune.
