The Nackenheim Rothenberg Riesling GG (Grosses Gewächs) represents the absolute pinnacle of dry Riesling from the Gunderloch estate. The legendary Rothenberg vineyard is situated on the famous 'Roter Hang' (Red Slope), a steep, east-facing cliff along the Rhine River characterized by 290-million-year-old red clay-slate soils (Rotliegendes). This iron-rich, ancient terroir imparts a distinctive smoky minerality, vibrant acidity, and deep complexity to the 100% Riesling grapes. Hand-harvested from the estate's finest parcels, the wine is fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and aged on its fine lees, preserving the natural tension, stone fruit purity, and salty minerality that define this Grand Cru site. Weingut Gunderloch blev grundlagt i 1890 af bankmanden Carl Gunderloch og er en højt respekteret vingård beliggende i Nackenheim ved Rhinen i den tyske vinregion Rheinhessen. I dag drives vingården med stor omhu af Hasselbach-familien gennem flere generationer. Gunderloch er især berømt for sine historiske parceller på de stejle, røde skiferterrasser i den legendariske Roter Hang – med grand cru-marken Nackenheimer Rothenberg som det ubestridte højdepunkt.
