The Eileen Hardy Pinot Noir is a fitting tribute to the matriarch of the Hardys dynasty, Eileen Hardy, who was affectionately known as the 'First Lady of Australian Wine' and appointed an OBE in 1976 for her outstanding contribution to the industry. First released in 1986, this flagship Pinot Noir represents the pinnacle of Hardys' cool-climate winemaking. Sourced from premier, low-yielding vineyards in Australia's finest cool-climate regions—most notably the pristine valleys of Tasmania and the Yarra Valley—the fruit is meticulously selected for its intensity and elegance. The winemaking process utilizes traditional open-top fermenters, hand-plunging, and maturation in seasoned and new French oak barriques. This produces a wine of exceptional grace, characterized by vibrant red cherry and raspberry aromas, complex forest floor undertones, and a silky, finely structured palate that reflects the very best of Australian cool-climate terroir.
