The Hennessy VS Faith XLVII Limited Edition is a striking collaboration that bridges the worlds of urban art and centuries-old blending heritage. Released as part of Hennessy's annual artistic partnership series, this bottling features artwork by the acclaimed South African interdisciplinary artist Faith XLVII, who drew inspiration from the natural elements, cycles of time, and the alchemy of blending eaux-de-vie. Inside the bottle is Hennessy's signature Very Special (VS) Cognac, a benchmark expression crafted from a blend of approximately 40 different eaux-de-vie sourced primarily from the Fins Bois, Bons Bois, Borderies, and Grande and Petite Champagne crus. Distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes using traditional copper Charentais alembic stills, the spirit is aged in French Limousin oak casks, imparting its characteristic notes of toasted almond, brown sugar, and vibrant fruitiness balanced by a delicate touch of oak.
🍾 wine.about_producer
Founded in 1765 by Irish officer Richard Hennessy in the historic town of Cognac, France, Hennessy has grown to become the world's most celebrated Cognac house. Headquartered on the banks of the Charente River along Rue de la Richonne, the house is renowned for its centuries-old blending heritage, famously guided by eight generations of master blenders from the Fillioux family. Utilizing traditional double-distillation in copper Charentais alembic stills, Hennessy ages its precious eaux-de-vie in French oak casks sourced from the Limousin forest to develop unparalleled complexity and depth. The estate's legendary portfolio is defined by iconic expressions such as the VSOP Privilège, the pioneering XO Cognac—a category first created by Maurice Hennessy in 1870—and the exquisite, ultra-premium Hennessy Paradis.
