The Hennessy ISH 70th Anniversary 1947 - 2017 is an extraordinary, highly limited commemorative Cognac bottled to celebrate seven decades of a historic milestone. Crafted under the guidance of the legendary Fillioux family of Master Blenders, this rare release is a masterclass in the art of selection, maturation, and blending. It utilizes exceptionally rare, historic eaux-de-vie sourced from the finest crus of the Cognac region, primarily Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. Distilled using traditional copper Charentais alembic stills and aged in French Limousin oak casks, the blend showcases a complex tapestry of rich rancio, dried stone fruits, warm spices, and toasted wood, embodying Hennessy's centuries-old heritage and dedication to artisanal excellence.

Maison Hennessy blev grundlagt i 1765 ved Charente-flodens bredder af den irske officer Richard Hennessy og har lige siden defineret den moderne cognacs prestige og identitet. Huset henter primært Ugni Blanc-druer fra regionens fremmeste crus – herunder Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies og Fins Bois. Her sikrer den kalkrige undergrund og det tempererede, maritime mikroklima grundvine med en markant, spændstig syre. Efter traditionel dobbeltdestillation på bærmen i klassiske Charentais-kobberkedler modner de unge eaux-de-vie på finkornede franske egetræsfade fra Tronçais og Limousin, fordelt mellem både fugtige og tørre lagringskældre. Den minutiøse blanding varetages i dag af Renaud Fillioux de Gironde og husets velrenommerede smagekomité som ottende generation i Fillioux-dynastiet.
